About Atlantic Energy
Atlantic Energy was founded by David Bevan and Declan Looney in 2007 to answer the demand for building energy performance services brought about by recent legislative changes.
The company is based in Rathpeacon, Co. Cork but operates throughout Munster and Leinster with another office in Milltown, Co. Kerry.
Our staff have a wealth of experience across a range of disciplines relevant to building energy performance such as construction, building services, engineering and software. All our staff are fully qualified and registered with S.E.A.I. and fully insured.
David Bevan
David graduated from U.C.C. in 1997 with an M.Sc. in physics. He worked thereafter in software and engineering in Ireland, Australia, Switzerland and the U.K. before returning to Ireland to fulfil a long-held wish to apply his expertise to the areas of energy conservation and renewable energy generation. He was among the first people in Ireland to qualify and register with S.E.A.I. to become a BER assessor. As well as running Atlantic Energy with Declan he works with Chris Mee Safety Engineering teaching their BER Assessor course. He is currently working with S.E.A.I. providing Technical Support to the BER scheme.
Declan Looney
Declan has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years and which has given him extensive first-hand experience of the issues relevent to the energy performance of buildings. He began working in Ireland but spent several years in Germany, Switzerland and France learning about their energy conservation techniques with a particular focus on insulation and air-tightness. As well as running Atlantic Energy with David he is still involved in construction projects throughout Cork.
Steve Johnson
Steve has worked in the building services industry for 25 years in the USA and Ireland. At Atlantic Energy he applies his experience and skills to help businesses reduce their electricity bills. He is also a trained BER assessor with considerable experience in commercial and domestic building energy efficiency.
